Olaf Henning leaves the MAHLE Group to join the management board of SoftProject GmbH

Olaf Henning joins the management board of SoftProject GmbH. During his professional career, he has worked at Michelin and Bosch, where he gained extensive international experience in the automotive sector and was deeply involved in the aftermarket business.

Most recently, as Corporate Executive Vice President at the MAHLE Group, he was globally responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Automotive Aftermarket business unit, and as Group President he was in charge of the worldwide group logistics. Furthermore, he established data-driven business models in the aftermarket and in the workshop environment at the MAHLE Group and accelerated the digitalization within the company.

With his profound experience, he will focus on the organizational development of SoftProject, the expansion of new markets, especially in the industrial sector, as well as the company’s internationalization based on the intelligent and adaptive software X4 BPMS. The management of SoftProject GmbH thus consists of the founder Dirk Detmer and the three other Managing Directors Joachim Beese, Olaf Henning and Oliver Kölmel.

«We are extremely pleased to welcome Olaf Henning to our team,» states Dirk Detmer, founder and Managing Director of SoftProject GmbH. «We are convinced that he will be a valuable addition to our team, especially on our way to open up new markets in the industry and to further develop our business through internationalization.»

Outside of MAHLE, Henning has been involved in associations and committees (VDA, CLEPA, TechAlliance, Partslife) to advocate for the automotive aftermarket and secure business foundations. Especially the association work in Brussels, which is for example dedicated to free access to vehicle data for independent workshops, has once again shown that the use of data is not only about competitive advantages, but also about ensuring fair business practices. This is a fundamental aspect for ecosystems such as SoftProject’s Insurance Gateway, which covers all claims management services for both insurers and service providers.

In his new position as Managing Director of SoftProject GmbH, Henning will use his knowledge and experience to further drive the company’s growth. His expertise will also be invaluable in opening up new markets in the automotive industry and internationalizing SoftProject.
