Two specialist forums, ten presentations, over 70 participants from all over Germany – in a varied and entertaining program, representatives of the insurance industry and digitization experts discussed all aspects of current trends, new technologies and best practices on June 17, 2021. The invitation was extended by the digitization specialist SoftProject GmbH from Ettlingen. The focus was on two topics that will dominate not only the industry, but the entire economy and society in the future: Digitization and sustainability.
The topic of sustainability takes a high priority at SoftProject GmbH. Just recently, the company published a sustainability report that presents individual projects and measures. “We connect people and systems. Together, we are shaping the digital future for a more sustainable world. That is our passion,” says Dirk Detmer, founder and CEO of SoftProject GmbH, which has been digitizing, automating and optimizing processes in the insurance industry for over 20 years. He emphasizes that digitization and sustainability are inextricably linked. “Only with innovation and state-of-the-art solutions can we realize sustainable, digital processes, open up new business models, increase profitability and ultimately secure our prosperity.” For this reason, SoftProject GmbH not only invests above average in the further training of its employees, but also in particular in the development of its products, he said. “Always with the goal that our customers use them as valuable drivers in their sustainability strategy and drive it forward.”
Digitization secures prosperity - also for future generations
SoftProject meets Insurance took place for the fourth time and for the first time online: In addition to presentations on the two stages, guests in the virtual exhibition halls were also offered meeting rooms for spontaneous networking over a cup of coffee, as well as an extensive range of information with downloads on various topics. The format has evolved steadily over the past few years, but the idea has remained the same: to unite the industry, present the latest products, trends and technologies to the insurance industry, discuss them and develop solutions for the future. The event was opened with a keynote speech by Dirk Weingärtner, Director Insurance Solutions at SoftProject GmbH: In addition to the perfect technical and professional implementation, he also emphasized the importance of digitalization for sustainable economic growth and the responsibility for the well-being of future generations. “This can only be achieved if we always increase profitability under social and ecological aspects as well.”
SoftProject combines economic, environmental and social interests
Weingärtner presented the participants with a circular model for sustainability, according to which companies can tap into new technologies, accelerate digital transformation and strengthen their market position by using the X4 Suite digitalization platform. A solid economic position, in turn, is the basis for concrete measures and social and ecological action. This has a stabilizing effect on a company and creates the conditions for long-term, sustainable economic success. Only companies that are in a good financial position are able to invest in research and development, bring innovations and new business models to market, and use them to support customers in their digital transformation. “In this way, we ensure continuous optimization and state-of-the-art technology,” says Weingärtner.
Always a highlight: The customer presentations directly from practice
Since the beginning of SoftProject meets Insurance, a highlight has been the presentations by customers who work with the low-code digitization platform X4 Suite every day and share best practices with the guests and demonstrate the concrete benefits insurance companies can derive from digital and automated processes.
In addition to SoftProject’s digitization experts such as Simon Mozes, Director Insurance Cloud Solutions and Georg Kiehne, Team Leader Insurance Solutions and Product Owner of the X4 BiPRO Server, the following guest speakers took to the virtual floor in the auditoriums this year: Carsten Nyhuis from hnw consulting GmbH, Max Janzen, Maik Gillen and Stephan Steinborn from Zurich, Slobodan Pantelic from HDI, Stefan Scheike and Philipp Blaß from AXA, and Uwe Rodestock and Daniel Muth from viadico. The content ranged from concrete success factors for the integration and operation of the digitization platform to tips on methods and concepts for accelerating sales and claims processes, as well as experiences and best practices with web-based applications from the cloud.
Digitization and sustainability are inextricably linked
In the final presentation, Dirk Detmer addressed the topic of “Digitalization made by SoftProject – today and in the future”. The focus was on the importance of digitalization and SoftProject’s responsibility in a changing world. He also addressed concrete tools and approaches that accelerate and simplify digital transformation. These included the use of ready-made templates and solutions as well as the sharing of resources, even with competitors. Detmer introduced the concluding Meet & Greet with an outlook into the future. Topics included the further development of the low-code approach, the use of big data in the field of digitization, and also a current EU research project. Together, the members of the initiative want to develop a high-precision digital model of the Earth that will be able to map climate development as well as extreme events spatially and temporally.
With lots of food for thought, practical tips and new contacts, the event ended with a snack from the surprise box that SoftProject had sent to the participants in advance.
SoftProject GmbH is already looking forward to the next SoftProject meets Insurance in 2022 – then hopefully again at a personal meeting.
